Currently, Washington is under a deadline of January 18, 2018, to bring their licenses in compliance with the 2005 REAL ID Act.  “The federal law requires state driver’s licenses and ID cards to have security enhancements and to be issued to people who can prove they are legally in the United States. It was passed after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to strengthen rules for identification needed at airports and federal facilities.” www.seattletimes.com

According to the TSA, effective, January 22, 2018, you will not be able to fly using your Washington state issued driver’s license unless it is an enhanced driver license (EDL) or you have other identification such as a passport or military ID.
