Tips While Your Car is Parked During COVID-19

During a ‘shelter-in-place’ orders, it’s not only you who stays in place, but also your car.  Having your vehicle sit for any length of time can lead to some issues down the road.  We have a few simple tips to make sure your car is ready to drive when you are.

Battery

A battery will discharge over time.  Keep it charged by taking a short drive, long enough to get the oil up to temperature.  Also, you can attach a trickle charger.

 

Fluids

Check the engine fluids.  Keep your oil and transmission fluid levels where they should be.

 

Tires

Maintain recommended tire pressure.  This will help to prevent flat spots.

 

Washing

Keep your vehicle clean.  This will protect the paint, especially if it is parked outdoors.
